Toby's expertise spans across various training areas, including puppy and house training, behavioral modification, service and therapy dog training, detection training, and protection training.
Toby's Experience and Achievements
- Department of Defense: Due to global military working dog (MWD) shortages, Toby was among the first of 60 airmen to transition directly from the Patrol Dog Handler Course to the Military Working Dog Training Section as a Patrol Dog Trainer.
- Training and Certification: Toby trained and certified 25 MWDs in advanced obedience, controlled aggression, scouting, building search, and gunfire conditions.
- Recognition: Named Trainer of the Month for training five MWDs in one month and received the Air Force Achievement Medal.
- Procurement Mission: Toby was hand-selected for a 12-person team tasked with increasing the global military working dog population. He evaluated over 1,000 dogs from vendors throughout Europe and helped select and train candidates, ultimately narrowing down to thirty dogs for purchase.
- Safety and Delivery: Ensured the safe transport of ten dogs from Ramstein Air Base, Germany, to Lackland AFB, Texas.
- Kennel Master: Toby managed canine explosive operations during a classified Persian Gulf mission, ensuring the safety of 1,400 personnel and $50B in military assets.
- Commendation: Earned the Air Force Commendation Medal for his exceptional performance.
